Looking to get my first chipper and found this Vermeer for sale locally. What are your thoughts on this model, engine, etc? Thanks in advance for any input.

I run an 07 935 with the Deutz and love it. I’m just a small preservation oriented company, but we still do full removals with it. It will chip over 6”, but I typically won’t feed more than that though it. The lack of a crush cylinder is probably the biggest drawback, but once you get used to how to cut brush and wood to feed it through, you will be just fine. If I did more removals, I’d consider a bigger chipper, but for starting out or mostly pruning, you’ll be in love.
