Light mechanical advantage with a pulley in the loop helps some... But it's still less than fun...

Can always do a regular eye and eye and put one of the petzls open rings on it

How are you doing it now, and what type of cord?
I used 8mm veritas, I spliced the first eye on the ring then measured the cord for the size loop I wanted and started the process of splicing the second eye on the ring, I didn't tie any knots or anything to hold the cover in place, and am having a tough time getting that second eye to bury all the way

Have you tried using a Prusik with a separate cord to help milk the cover, and used tension while trying to bury?

Yup, even better.

I guess we should ask op what they're trying to accomplish with a ring loop?
