SALARY: $1,968.00 - $2,460.00 Biweekly
$51,168.00 - $63,960.00 Annually

DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to supervise tree crews and inspect and arrange tree work per citizen call-in
or as needed to ensure safety of trees on City right of ways, streets, and parks. This is accomplished by
inspecting trees, entering data in computer or mobile device to track tree inventory and work completed,
inspecting tree crew work, and handling citizen inquiries. Other duties include working with contractors and
other departments for special projects, serving during emergencies, purchasing equipment, and assisting in
budget development. Works very closely with Forestry Management Supervisor to maintain urban trees.

JOB DUTIES:
Supervises tree crew in performing their work by overseeing daily work, implementing hiring and termination
decisions, delegating work to after-hours crews, prioritizing work, and establishing work schedules.
Responds to customer inquiries and complaints by seeking resolution to issues, and entering emergency
requests into database.
Assists with preparation of divisional budget; purchases tools, supplies and equipment; and maintains
proper resource allocations.
Participates in interdepartmental after-hours on-call services, oversees contractors, and works with other
departments and outside organizations on special projects as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate's Degree from a college, technical, business, vocational, or correspondence school.
Experience: Minimum three (3) years of experience in residential and/or commercial tree care and
minimum one year in tree crew supervision.
Other Certifications & Requirements: Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and
ISA Certified Arborist. ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ), must be obtained within one year of
hire.
This position is considered essential to the operations of the City and may be required to perform
work before, during, and after inclement weather and other emergencies.
Notes: Weekend work may be required. After hours on-call rotation will be required. Selected
candidate will also have to complete a driving/criminal history check and post-offer drug screen.

ISA Municipal Specialist
