Positions Announcement:

The New Jersey Forest Service -Community Forestry Program is seeking several highly motivated individuals for the position of Forester in the Community Forestry Program. This Forester will provide technical assistance to cities and towns across the state on the creation of management plans, implementation of on-the-ground forestry activities, assist in forest health projects and surveys, cooperate in forestry education and awareness initiatives and provide grant funding administration and oversight.


Graduation from a SAF accredited college/university with a B.S. degree in forestry or related field and One year of experience in forestry. A Masters Degree in Forestry or related field can be substituted for the one year of experience.

Salary: Starting salary range for Forester ($38,500 - $40,500) with a title range up to $48,000. Outstanding benefits include medical insurance, drug plan, paid vacation, holidays, paid sick leave, retirement plan, clothing allowance and state vehicle.
