thi s is what one handed, left hand typing looks like

toay at work i was splitting firewood. a chu k was caught on the wewdge which was retracting with the detent sewt. i reached over to clear the piece bu my right hand got caught between the wood and the ram. pinched it hard.i slapped the val ve, grabbed my right hand HARD and saty down. told my buddy to call 911

5th metatarsal is crushed...splinters
4th mt broken

novacaine...ouch!
cleaned the wound
11 temp stiches to close it up
taped aNd splited the hand

not in a rush../just after lunch

this is something that i've done many times...heated houses usin 6-8 full cords ayear...

on my splitter i did not have a detent for retracting

take care...there are so many things like this that can gitcha

we also heat with wood only and i am so frightfull of the splitter that I allow David to do all that work.

Bummer man, sorry to hear about it. I know when I was 12 or so I crushed my thumb between the log and the ram. Didn't hurt that much and amazingly I walked away ok. Taught me to always visually check where my hand is before the ram moves.
