I hear you on that.
Unless you have a class A to tow a very large trailer
or
a small dump truck/trailer combo with a gross combined vehicle weight rating of 26,000 or less.
Loader on the truck, lift on the trailer, as others have said.
I’m not sure about that in your state.
In Mass and many other states the GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) NOT the GVW (gross vehicle weight) will be what determines whether or not a CDL is required.
For example, my dump truck has a 10,000 lb GVW but has a 16,500 lb GVWR. So without a CDL I...
It’s the same in all the states. As far as what is considered CDL or not
Over 26,000 vehicle or gross combined weight rating Class B
Trailer over 10,000 Class A
We didn’t have to take anything off for the price we paid
My only gripe was that they didn’t pull off the brand new aluminum fenders before they blasted. (Only four bolts per fender).
It dulled them and made them look aged.
In 2012 I had my bandit 200XP painted (purchased new in 1999).
Total was $2500.00
Sand blasted
Epoxy primer
Paint
It came out great. I’m sure the prices are up since 2012. Possibly closer to $4000.00 now
We used heavy mesh tarps for years. They worked great when we had only one dump truck for our tree business.
We had them custom made with the heaviest mesh available.
I like what both of you have suggested and will probably combine both methods.
Climbhightree. How’s that Cummins engine been treating you??
Any warranty work or issues with that engine?? I ask because I most likely will have a western star like you
More questions…
Dunnage. How much do you recommend I keep on my truck and what dimensions?
Ramps?? For setting up on grades?? Any tips or tricks to keep the tires on the ground?
As always, all advice is appreciated
I think an 18’ mission is plenty for that easy lift.
I have a 20’ mission rated for 10K. The trailer itself weighs 1500 lbs so the easy lift 87 would have you close to max capacity but would be under cdl class A.
Mission will custom build your trailer and will add stronger axles and...
