    Jonsereds 920 - Can't Dial It In!

I have a Jonsereds 920, built in 1982. It sat in a closet for about 25 years before someone gave it to me in brand new condition (still in the box, never run). I ran it occasionally over the course of the last 8 to 10 years. I've never had a problem with it until recently. I took the rakes...

    GRCS

I'm not worried. The unit is sold.

    GRCS

Well, that's a silly question. But I'll respond anyway. I do want to sell it, but not for what you've offered me. At least not yet. If you want such a bargain, please be patient. I am guessing that someone will be willing to pay more than you, but if I'm wrong, you'll be the first to know...

    GRCS

$2000.00 + shipping. Any takers? I'll keep lowering the price until someone takes it, so keep checking back (every week or so).

    GRCS

I purchased the unit in November 2008, so I've had it about a year and a half. (Someone was asking, perhaps via PM.)

    GRCS

[ QUOTE ] hey ill take it if still available. [/ QUOTE ] After some consideration, marlinspiker has indicated that he is not in a position to purchase a GRCS at this time. It is therefore still available.

    GRCS

It pains me to write this post. I started my part-time tree service about four years ago. It was more of a hobby that I hoped would also generate some income, but I simply do not have the time to continue. I actually stopped working some time ago, except a few small jobs for friends. I had...

Very Small Maple as an Anchor

Sorry to disappoint...in the end I cut the tree and ground/dug out the stump. But I'm very glad to have learned about the pickets. I was surprised to read the amount of force they can withstand (see the link posted by Fairfield).

Very Small Maple as an Anchor

[ QUOTE ] I hestitate to even ask... [/ QUOTE ] That's how I started this thread. Honestly, I will probably just cut the tree and grind the stump. But, I thought it would be a good learning opportunity since (1) the job is for a friend, (2) on a Saturday, and (3) if it doesn't work, then...

Very Small Maple as an Anchor

Have you watched the GRCS video? That's actually where I got the idea. But really, the GRCS as a winch is nothing more than a machine for increasing mechanical advantage. There's nothing wrong with being creative, so long as we're safe when we do so. My problem, of course, is the lack of a...

Very Small Maple as an Anchor

OK, so I'll leave the maple alone. Can anyone provide a link for these pickets?

Very Small Maple as an Anchor

I hestitate to even ask... I need an anchor for pulling and the only tree available is a small maple. Very small. About 4" DBH. Any idea how much force the tree might withstand if I anchor to it as low as possible (just above the dirt)? Just looking for a rough estimate. A customer wants a...

    Stihl 460 Self Destruct?

Bull, I'm south of Worcester. I'm still waiting to hear back from the manager at the shop. When I get the saw back, I'll contact you. I used regular fuel, with Stihl brand 2-cycle oil. I thought that was safe. Although, I'm not sure what the shop put in. I'll find out.

    Stihl 460 Self Destruct?

The shop did say that the diaphram appeared stiff(?) and that's what caused the damage. I don't understand that; perhaps it makes sense to some of you? My problem is this: Assuming the shop did nothing wrong, I'm left with the following: 1. The shop never heard of this problem and therefore...

    Stihl 460 Self Destruct?

Need some help here! I had my 460 serviced recently. The shop said it needed little: "Spark plug . . . Washed air filters . . . fueled and added bar chain lube test ran okay." I fired the thing up on Saturday to fell a tree. On the back cut, it stopped suddenly. No coughing, no slowing...

    Stihl MS460 - Bar / Chain smoking

I replaced the bar (went with Stihl). Also noticed that the chain was incredibly dull. Maybe dull isn´t even the word for it?
