Today I’m at Norris Lake In Tennessee For a burial. Actually a burial at “sea”. Trying to lead a man to Christ too.

    Rope Wrench - Hitch/Rope compendium.

Same here. I just practiced with a wet rope and hitch cord. Wet equals grippier for my setup. It’s not terrible though. And I’d rather it be grippy than slippy! I always take an ATC into the tree with me for back-up descent method. Rain is not going to be a concern while hunting and using the RW.

It’s running very well. I haven’t run it a whole lot. Maybe 2 tanks of gas Since last compression test.

Hey, maybe I'll also wash my hitch cord. And after the wash, I'll try climbing on it while it is wet to test out my friction hitch. Low & Slow.

    Rope Wrench - Hitch/Rope compendium.

Ok. Maybe I'll go ahead and wash the rope I use for hunting today. I've used it for 2 hunting seasons without washing it. It is 9mm sterling HTP and is only 40 feet long. I have a mesh bag and some scent free, dye free detergent. I can lay it out on the garage floor to dry.

    Rope Wrench - Hitch/Rope compendium.

Followup question: what is the best way to dry out a rope? I assume hang it in a tree in the sunlight? What about putting it in a bag and throwing it in the dryer?

    Rope Wrench - Hitch/Rope compendium.

Very interesting! I wasn't sure if it would make it slipperier or stickier. I do know that knots sometimes get tighter when wet and under tension. So that makes sense. I guess I'll just have to wait until it comes a good rain and go outside and try it out. Low & slow. My neighbors already think...

    Rope Wrench - Hitch/Rope compendium.

I'm new to using a Rope Wrench. I do some recreational tree climbing, some light trimming, and a lot of deer hunting. Here's my setup followed by a BIG QUESTION: I'm 205 lbs without any gear. I'm using 9mm Sterling HTP Static rope with a 4/3 VT. My question: What can I expect if I use this in...

Amateur Questions about Chainsaw Cylinder replacement

Good news! I checked my compression today and I got between 145 and 150 psi! I think that's good enough isn't it? Explanation: I realized I was using an unnecessary adapter on the fitting that screws into the spark plug hole. I had already been concerned that the adapter might be long enough to...

Amateur Questions about Chainsaw Cylinder replacement

Thanks Chipper! We did have 2 great services. We celebrated Communion for the first time since Covid hit. I was surprised during my sermon when a tooth crown came off mid-sentence... At least I didn't swallow it. I prefer to take Friday off for Sabbath. Yes, I have a metal clamp. (#15) I've run...

I’ve got it running, but it idles way too high. I put a Zama carb on it. All 3 screws are fully counter clockwise. I don’t know what to do.

Amateur Questions about Chainsaw Cylinder replacement

I'm replacing the carb and my new one is set up for a fuel line to a primer bulb. My saw doesn't have a primer bulb. I'm pretty sure I can just cap this off. But I'm not sure how to cap it. Please share some wisdom with me.

Amateur Questions about Chainsaw Cylinder replacement

Wow! Thanks Rob! I'm between church services right now and I took a quick glance through the manual. It's fantastic! I'm not a profession chainsaw guy, so I'm just buying cheap parts off eBay. This saw was given to me as a throw away. But I think I'll have it running in a couple weeks. I cut...
