The UK Health and Safety Executive are now expecting to see the climber attached to two ropes at all times when in the tree. Beech Dismantle

Last few cuts on a Beech dismantle, anything where the butt end might've punched big holes in the asphalt was rigged and run to ground tips first to take the sting out of it. The higher top sections were light enough not to damage the asphalt.

    No Rig Removal/Husky 560xp

Tree (Beech) was diseased at base (Kretzchmaria deusta decay fungi) and had dropped a few large limbs out in recent years. Saw is a Husqvarna 560xp with 20" bar and .325" full chisel chain (a big Jonsered makes small appearance near the end)

    Progressive Urban Tree Management

Found this vid on youtube, a City arborist crew describe their work in a large woodland/parkland area in London, seems a balanced and sensible approach, the coronet cutting and fracture pruning may not sit well with some, but if you consider the wider view it's makes a lot of sense. Any thoughts?

    Antal rings Sling

Finally bought a couple of small (20x14) Antal rings to give this whole X ring idea a go, had them spliced like so, to either girth hitch or hang like a cambium saver, just going to be used for light/medium/rigging re-direct in place of natural crotching situations for the moment then possibly...
