I have some.
Why were there so many wraps on the adjacent trees?
Did you want the rope to part?
Where did the rope part?
Was there a climber in the tree when the log was tripped?
If not, how was the log tripped...
It was not parted so easily, the redirect sling at the base of the adjacent tree was melted together. It was a 25mm double braid tied with a cow hitch. I will post a pic of the break point of the rope, there is no sign of melting.
I would have liked to get everyones opinions prior to the log being toppled, it is very easy to watch the outcome and assume you would have predicted it.

Like Gerald said, using a lanyard in this manner to give...
I use my lanyard in that manner on a regular basis, particuly if i am attaching my lanyard above my head and are putting alot of weight on it. My lanyard is 4 meters of spliced 16 strand with an ART positioner, attached to the harness with a biner. Being able to reposition the lanyard is very...
The masters came down to one point between myself and Ged Reynolds, luck turned out to be on my side. As for the avitar, it is a staged pic of me making use of some sap, what can I say, boys will be boys.
