What is your preferred rope for SRT

Looking to buy a new rope for srt and was wondering what some of you prefer to use. Currently on Sterling HTP and PI. Also still trying to settle on a hitch cord that works well. Currently using 8mm beeline on the HTP and 10mm Oceans on the PI. Appreciate any thoughts.

Mike, How do your ascenders like the Vortex? I have a short peice of it, but have never tried SRT on it.

i have my eyes on that KMIII 1/2 (blue and white) line. my co worker runs his rope runner on it and loves it and hes let me play around on it, its got a real nice feel. supply but solid, doesnt seem to flatten out.

i like the feel of the 1/2 line, very nice on the hands

I am really liking my imori. Especially if I use it in conjunction with a static line as the anchor leg in a basal anchored system. The static line runs from the base anchor over the TIP and is attached to the imori, which is running to the ground.
Can cut a lot of rope elongation out of the system.

I've wanted to try that line myself ..the bone does flatten rope , but it doesn't seem to last or be an issue on the Yale lines I run. The 11.7s are the bomb on RW and I'm liking them on bone as well , but bdb does have me trying other lines. The subtle differences can mean a lot on rope. Have not tried blue moon or tongue. Herd the moon was a bit more static than other variations of color in same diameter , the blue tongue on the other hand has nylon core for ce cert and makes that more bouncy than the rest. Herd that from swingdude in another thread. 11.7 for the tend ability , hand , working flex. It seems to fall of little suckers pretty good too with a good flick. Makes it my preferred SRT rope for now.

aaron all of what you said made me pick what i have now, which is that yale arrowfrog, i think just another variation of all those you mentioned. i do like it, but i kinda beat it up quicker than i thought i would

yeah the cover looks rough in some spots from kick outs on m pantin.
also i was working a spar SRT, had it choked above me while cutting a notch and my splice came untucked (the retrieval side of the line) from where i kept it and wound up swinging towards the saw and was cut off.
and ive done a basal anchor on top of pine borer holes where mounds of sap are, so on end of my line is real gross.
and climbing up stems SRT i have stuffed my spikes into that line a few times.
...still learning.....

I've been on Yale Poison HiVee with Armor Pruss hitch cord on a Hitch Hiker.
Everyone over here is saying that Donaughy's Cougar Blue is the nuts for SRWP with any hitch device.
That's what I'll be getting next.

Cuthigh. Were all still learning if we know whats good for us.! I have a pantin , got away from it for the reason you said. It has aggressive little teeth , been much happier with ct on ropes for that reason. It is nice to not reach down to kick rope out when you can do it consistently, but if your life line is getting tore up from it the times its accidental , might be worth getting ct. As far as cutting your line that sucks and picking while climbing I found clipping tail into little accessory biner on leg strap of saddle keeps it out from between my feet on long ascents ..or short ones if I remember when "I'm in the zone " you know what I mean. I hate I'm mean hate it when I spur up a nice new rope .

arrowfrog is very good rope...now move on to Sumac from treestuff...you can thank me later....bad ass rope...stop spiking it...kicking out frequently on a pantin is pure technique probs...stay upright point toes down and adjust it correctly...having a chest harness as a tender helps this too, use a nylon loop with acc crab...as a chestie...
