Hello. I'm a 'tool-a- Phile. I'de like to celabrate those tools we have,in our bags, in our pouches, on our belts, and in our trucks... (trucks and rolling stock not included)
...Those tools that, though our wives and mothers could never understand, make the risks, early mornings (...and day-long tidyups!!), worthwhile!

It could be a particular: spanner..., or chainsaw. It could be a pulley, or knot, pulley, webbing combo. It could be something borrowed, stollen, modified, or of your own invention.

(...if it's stollen, please post pictures!..) ...(locations, names, etc!...)

...anything YOU consider an 'everyday' tool

I'll start the ball rolling:

A couple knives & pocket diamond sharpener:

DMT Double Sided Knife Sharpener, Fine and Coarse Grit (diamond grit)
Folding knife w/ marlin spike (both ends fixed when opened)
Mini Super Knife (replaceable blade has never been changed in 10 yrs, only sharpened w/ above)

It's a Myerchin... not expensive, at all. Made in Japan. I bought two of them, and really like them. Has the lanyard ring, which is nice in the tree. I keep one on my harness, or else I put a lanyard on it and throw it in the ditty bag (with knife lanyard clipped to a ring on the bag). Comes with a pouch/holster, but I found an aftermarket one that I like better than the one that comes with it.

A marling spike is a handy thing, for more than just getting knots untied. Everybody should have one of these type knives. I got my first one when I was a teenager, from an ex-Navy, landscape/tree guy.

(and I need to find one of those pocket diamond sharpeners... I like that)

Perfect for the smaller shackle pins. I have a couple of big, 5/8" and 3/4" bow shackles that it's not so good with... but I don't use those shackles very much, so it's not a big deal. Mostly gets used on 5/16" and 3/8" shackles.

It works fairly well for regular nuts and stuff like you'll find on climbing gear, but you won't be using it to fix the chipper or the crane.
