I have the great honor to be the Head Tech here in MN next month as I have decided to back off the trophy hunt and make room for other up and coming climbers. Besides I always over-exert on comp day and I don't wanna get an injury climbing for free and fun. I guess it's Geezer's time for me lol.

Anyway - some of the same questions are coming across my desk and I'm sure I know the answers but just to clarify:

    1) Stationary Rope work positioning - is this allowed in WC, AR, and MC?

    2) What devices are approved for use in SRWP? Just RopeWrench and Petzl Rig? How about HitchHiker, Unicender, Bulldog Bone, ISC D-4, Edelrid Eddy, any others?

    3) Are we still running the Footlock event or switching to Open Ascent? This is the qualifying event for 2016 ITCC.

    1. Yes, sort of.
    2. RW, Rig, & ID
    3. FootLock is still in. No Open Ascent.

I am still a little confused on RW equipment.
Are any ropes (proper size), any hitch cords, & any hitch configuration allowed ? Assuming they pass a load test ?

Yes, ISC changed the wording in their user manual, so any rope, hitch, tether, biner, pulley combo will pass as long as it's all in compliance with the rest of the rulebook. I would ask climbers to demo their RW system at gear check to ensure they have it fine tuned for safe and secure operation.

I probably missed it but it seems all the ISA doc's on their Web Site regarding the RW are the old stuff. Thus my confusion ?
    Your reference ?

Do just go to ISC ?

What about SpiderJack and RopeJack from ART - mechanical DdRT devices?

    Petzl ZigZag?

How about HitchHiker or Unicender if being used in a DdRT / Moving Rope System?
