Dyneema tutorial from a sailors perspective

Kiddie sizes is a good term for the smaller stuff! FSE Robline makes a 3mm dyneema line with a break strength of 5400 lbs. The type of shackle shown in the video, and a couple others, would result in a break strength of around 11,000 lbs. Not bad for 1/8 " line.

I also found it interesting what he had to say about the dyneema in good shape after a year and a half, in and out of the sun and sea water.

The tapers were too blunt on the brummels, and none on the soft shackle, which would lead to a lesser breaking strength.
What he called a Möbius brummel is actually a McDonald brummel, just a slight difference in construction.
