Rope Runner doesn't like the wet, hitches don't like the wet too much either. Devices like the Grigri, Rig etc. are good on wet ropes so there are options for getting down ;-)

True, I keep a rescue 8 close by as well, there are 20 ways to wrap those to get friction. But my life does not hand me time for a leisurely swing in the rain right now, I'm lucky to get 40 minutes to jam up, and bomb out of one of the burl oaks outside the door. Rain climb will have to go on my future list, it does sound therapeutic.
