Jack,

I does look similar to Sweet Gum, tiwgs do have the corky ridges like Sweet Gum. This is a small to medium size tree.

Mark,

Close.

This is a tricky one. It looks like a Norway (Acer platanoides) but that corky growth on the stems is odd. I did a little and digging and came up with Acer campestre (Hedge Maple) is the sap from the petiole milky white? That is one of the ways to tell Norway from sugar but aparrently this one also has that ID trait.

Hard to say without seeing the leaves up close. I would hazard 1) Chamacyparis lawsoniana (Port Orford Cedar) or Calocedrus decurrens (Incense Cedar) I would think more of Port Orford because of the drooping branches. Can we get a close up of the foliage?

Ezekiel,

Once again you are correct! Acer campestre is correct. This particular one was planted bare root sping of '02.

Mark,

Very similar to Amur.
