Has anyone used this saw and how does it compare to the 372 that it took over?

I`ve got one, buy a 372 while you still can or get a Stihl 441 if you are looking for a greenie saw. There is nothing to write home about the 575.

Yeah i have a 440 and a really beat up 372 and all local dealers are out. I was just wondering if the 575 was like the 372 or more bulkier and less power.

When the 575 and the 372 are both stock the difference in power is not significant, the 575 is marginally torquier but it is noticeably heavier. The 575 also seems kind of large and bulky but this may only be my perception. The 575 is a very smooth saw in the cut and it is comparatively fuel efficient. I don`t see anything compelling about owning a 575, I got mine when they first hit the market and I don`t expect to own another. I`m fairly disappointed in what Husky did with this saw to be honest with you, it looks as if Stihl has done a much better job with the 441 from what I have heard although I have not run one.
You might try different channels if your local dealers have no 372s, from what I understand the 372 is going to be available in Canada for another five years. I would imagine Walkers could hook you up that if noone else could help or maybe a properly modified Husky 359, 357, or Stihl 361 would satisfy your needs?

Thanks for the info and yeah it does add up i was at the dealer yesterday and does seem bulckier and heavier. I would like to invest in the midrange section of saws i have. Looks to me like Stihl will be the choice if I do not get my hands on a 372. I run Stihl and Husky.

I was just helping a friend out up north two days ago and he had a 372 and a stihl 441 magnum we were using both, asked him about which saw he prefered and he said the stihl, all around more power and lighter (he runs a 32" bar for logging...)

I use both for some odd reason on some jobs I perfer to use the stihls and on some I use the huskys. I think it all depends on the amount of coffee I drink in the mornin.

I had a 372XP 24" until it was stolen. Absolutely loved it!!
I got a Dolmar 7900 to replace it with 24" and 32" bars and chains. Have used the 32" in solid 36" oak (buried it) and I was very impressed. I did compare it to the 575XP 24" and the Dolmar was lighter and faster cutting.
The 372XP is no longer available in the USA due to emmissions.

Dolmar 7900; the weight of an ms440 and the horsepower of a ms650 magnum, starts easy, incredible low end torque and high r.p.m. Yeah, and what's with the 575 weighing about 2 lbs. more than the 372?

Yeah i know it wieghs more i useda buds a couple days ago doing some selective logging. Geesh I missed the 372 wieght, after about bouncin around for and hour I was shouldering it to the next trees. I just found out to that the 440s in this area are going fast too all being sold out for the new 441. Cool thing is my brother inlaw has a 372 and is gettin out of the logging so for 400$ it is mine, and his 440 for 500$ last years, I did check out the Dolmar and was impressed with it seeing if some locals or some loggers up north have any and see if I can stop by for a run on the saw. Funny thing is I was convering with a saw salesman and asked if i could test it out he looked at me and all I said was It is like a car man test drive before ya by ,hate to get a saw you never used and relised it sucks. He just looked at me and laughed yeah is all he said. Bad thing is I was serious.
