Looking to buy my first knuckle boom crane with a grapplesaw.

It was at an altec demo in Orlando in April.

Yes. Demoed Effer. Truck kept shutting off while I was using it and the other one they had there wouldn’t even function. Pump went out when they tried to use it. I hated their grapple-the way it tilts down. The other American builders wouldn’t even call me back and had nothing in stock.

They are making a larger head but it’s intended for excavators I believe

You can’t run a 580 on a knuckleboom. Not enough flow. But that would be sweet

I love my PM. I’m probably going to be buying the 210 ton this year. BIK is the way to go. Had an issue with my crane this morning (operator error). I called BIK. I got multiple calls back within minutes

My understanding is that federal law prevents minors from working in the Tree Service industry.

Using trunk to make table tops

A wood working buddy of mine from church told me today to buy a moisture meter for it. Said they were under a hundred bucks. Guess I’ll be getting one to accomplish what your saying.

What your saying interests me. Are you implying it would also speed the process? Can tell me exactly how you would perform this and for what durations? Could I still put a clear epoxy on it when it’s done and it be safe as a dinner table? Sure the value matters cause while I’m at it, why not...

    Skid steer choice

Mini for sure. Hands down. Nothing else to consider. I have 3 minis and full size skids. The minis are so strong nowadays, AND if you get one with a grapple that you can turn, you can carry way more brush with a mini longways than you could with a sideways full size. Also, they are so easy to...

Thanks for all the input. Just to be clear; 1. recut it oversized. 2. Seal all services immediately 3.)Store in a cool dry place not in contact with any moisture holding substance 4. Wait as long as 3 to 5 years for it to properly dry out and plain and sand from there

Using trunk to make table tops

I understand it’s going to be quite the process. Honestly, I don’t really want to do it myself. This table is very important to me. I have a $5000 budget for it. I don’t care what the material cost is as long as it works

Thanks for all the detailed information. I do plan On making a round slice. What if I bolt it through? So, I’ll make a fresh cut when I get my 59” bar on Tuesday, then seal it? Can you send me link for what YOU would buy? Some people on Facebook were saying 3”. 2 sounds better but will it be...
